WEEKLY WISDOM

- January 12 2022 -

Welcome to Weekly Wisdom, the second edition of the weekly newsletter I’ve committed to delivering to your inbox every Wednesday. I’m so excited to bring y’all these emails each week! My intention is to use this as a space to share with you the things in life and business that I’m loving/hating/and everything in between!

So, let’s jump right in!

THIS WEEK'S QUOTE:

“A lot of people are afraid to say what they want. That’s why they don’t get what they want.” — Madonna

I don’t love resolutions - if you’ve been a part of my world for any amount of time you know I do a word or words but if I was going to make a resolution, this would be it.

Let’s let 2022 be the year that we finally start speaking up about and going after the things WE want!

I used to think that being selfish was a bad thing but I’ve come to realize that being selfish and putting ourselves first is actually the biggest act of love we can show the people we care about.

When we’re happy. Like, really happy - the people around us get the very best version of us.

When we put others first what happens is they get the half assed version of us that’s barely hanging on!

Here’s something to journal on: What would it look like if I went after the things I really wanted in my life?

THIS WEEK'S READING:

The Temperance card is meant to represent the soul. Traditionally female, the Angel or Woman on the Temperance card incorporates subtle energies and resources for personal growth.

You are being asked to use your patience to blend things in a harmonious way instead of rushing them! The key is to learn how to temper your ego needs with the legitimate needs of your spirit. This is a time of growth from within and harmony from without. Embrace + Enjoy it!

THIS WEEK'S SONG:

Um, so I tried to send the song IN the email but I’m clearly not that tech savvy! So you can just like, google or search wherever you listen to music! At least I tried!

This week’s song on repeat: All American by Mickey Guyton!

She is incredibly talented and this song is a JAM! It’s one you’ll be screaming at the top of your lungs in your car for weeks! You’re welcome!

WHAT I’M READING:

Y’all this book is probably scratch that, this book IS my favorite book of all time - The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. If you’ve not read this book, you need to. This book contains codes based on Toltec wisdom and it will change your life. It’s a simple read but the information inside is profound! If you’re looking for a good read to kick off the New Year, I promise you will love love love this book!

WOMAN OF THE WEEK:

This week’s feature is actually women of the week - Haylee + Lou with Female Gang: they are two powerhouse women that I had the honor of meeting last year in September at Amplify!

Not only are their clothes adorable, their workout gloves allow me to wear my diamonds while I lift, but on top of that, Haylee and Lou are two of the most genuine and kind people on the face of the planet!

Haylee is a powerhouse insurance broker and Lou is the Female Gang co-founder and a badass right hand woman in the insurance world! When they’re not killing it in insurance they are empowering the women in their community to chase their dreams and have a good time doing it! Make sure you follow along and keep an eye out for their next merch drop!

CURRENTLY OBSESSED WITH:

Have you seen Stay Close on Netflix? It’s an excellent limited series based on The book Stay Close by Harlan Coben. I binged the whole thing in one weekend and promptly sent all my girlfriends texts about how they needed to watch it! It’s not scary but it is suspenseful and SO SO good! The theme song is also really really good!

HERE’S WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED:

This weekend I woke up in the middle of the night with the urge to archive everything on my instagram. I spent all day Sunday responding to messages asking what was wrong and the truth is - nothings wrong.

I’ve been on this deep healing journey the last two years. Cutting off toxic family cold turkey for over a year. Weekly therapy + energy work appointments! I even went basically silent online in 2021, in both my personal life and business.

It wasn’t something planned. It just happened and I’m so glad it did. Because I’ve used the time away from social media and the world really to heal and heal deeply. And archiving my IG just felt like the next step. I’m still trying to decide what I’m going to do with my FB community (more on that in another email) but that’s it - nothing wrong. Just what I feel is another step towards the end of an awakening that’s preparing me for the next season of life.

Speaking of the next season, my 30th birthday is coming up. We’re headed to Big Sky at the end of this month to celebrate so if you’ve ever been and have any recommendations for places to go, things to do, restaurants to try, please send them my way on IG @thekaylarowell

I hope you have an amazing week and that you’re actively creating + living your best life!
